The Independent Office of Audits and Investigations is actively seeking a Staff Management Auditor, Specialist. Under close supervision of the Senior Management Auditor, the incumbent plans and conducts the most difficult, complex, and sensitive risk-based audits efficiently and effectively as a lead auditor, exercises independence and proficiency in performing audits of Caltrans, commercial contractors, local government entities, and other state agencies, in accordance with federal and state laws and government auditing standards. The incumbent assigns work to assisting auditors and provides training and feedback to less experienced auditors. The incumbent represents the office to the public and is expected to maintain professional demeanor and attire, as well as adhering to appropriate professional code of conduct.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Staff Management Auditor (Specialist) exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
