Under the general direction of the Deputy Division Chief of System Management, a Principal Transportation Engineer (Supervisor), the incumbent serves as the Chief of the Office of Mobility and System Performance.
The incumbent oversees the establishment of statewide policies, practices, and guidelines to provide a safe and reliable transportation network that serves all people and respects the environment; directs the implementation of tools and technologies for day-to-day operations and safety; encourages new innovations and technologies; and facilitates operations for freight, transit, active transportation, and all roadway users throughout the State.
The incumbent also oversees the implementation of Transportation System Management and Operations (TSMO) strategies, the statewide deployment of Mobility Hubs, managed lanes system planning and operations, implementation of a Transportation Management System (TMS) Master Plan, management of the Transportation System Improvement Program (TSIP), planning and support for Senate Bill 743, and the collection, processing and dissemination of reliable transportation data.
