About the Opportunity
As the Sustainability Program Manager, you will combine your passion for climate change, agriculture and the environment. This role will lead the management and implementation of Driscoll’s sustainability strategy within the Global Research & Development (R&D) department. The Sustainability Program Manager aims to reduce greenhouse gases (GHG) and improve resource use efficiency across a global network of research farms, greenhouses, and offices. You will support Driscoll’s R&D in 3 key areas. First, managing R&D’s annual GHG footprint for internal and external GHG reporting. Second, manage R&D’s sustainability program which includes data analysis, translating insights into GHG reduction strategies, communicating program strategy and progress to senior leadership and a diverse group stakeholders. Third, implementation and program management of various GHG and/or resource use efficiency projects across R&D’s network of research farms, greenhouses, and offices.
The Sustainability Program Manager will need to be resourceful and collaborate seamlessly with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external, to execute on business needs. Responsibilities will include project management, data management, research, financial analysis, and strategic planning. Academic and work experience in the fields of environmental sciences, environmental engineering, project management, greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy, is preferred.
Responsibilities
• Lead the annual data collection and analysis for R&D’s GHG Footprint
• Manage, analyze, and communicate key insights from R&D’s GHG Footprint to senior leadership and key R&D stakeholders
• Manage development and implementation of R&D’s GHG reduction/sustainability strategy
• Lead program management for GHG reduction/environmental projects across a network of diverse operations and stakeholders including real estate, finance, test plot coordinators, etc.
• Management support of a network of external vendors and research partners
• Support other BUs with best practice and knowledge sharing as needed
• Assist with rolling-out on-farm water and GHG data collection across research farms
• Support with ad-hoc assignments as needed
Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or related field, with 3-5 years of experience in the food industry, sustainability consulting, environment or related field
• Business and/or finance experience a plus
• Experience working with agricultural sites including farms, greenhouses, nurseries, and offices
• Understanding of GHG emissions in food or related industry
• Experience with GHG reporting, GHG footprinting and GLG protocol
• Experience working with environmental consultants (EV providers, green energy providers, solar providers, etc.)
• Excellent organizational and project management skills (PMP certificate a plus)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in field conditions
• Strategic mindset, comfortable with translating data into business insights and action plans
• Experience developing partnerships: building relationships internally and externally and collaborative teamwork experience
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving skills
• A proven ability to stay on top of and communicate environmental regulatory requirements
• Strong Excel skills
• Spanish is a plus
Compensation and Benefits

The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.
Salary Range estimated for the Sustainability Program Manager: $73,813.00/year to $110,350.50/year.
