Job Purpose
Environmental Scientist III is a role requiring expertise in environmental science and project management. This position involves routinely overseeing small to medium environmental projects, preparing proposals, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The Environmental Scientist III manages timelines and acts as a primary client liaison.

Salary Range for this position is $73,073.97 - $109,610.95 . The compensation for this role is commensurate with experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee small to medium projects, ensuring on time and within budget delivery
- Develop and oversee project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Serve as the primary technical expert and point of contact for client
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including scientists, engineers, and GIS, to achieve project objectives
- Prepare task proposals, including scope of work, budgets, and schedules, tailored to client needs and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing complex technical proposals.
- Lead forest assessments and permitting, including Forest Stand Delineations, Roadside Tree Surveys, Forest Conservation Plans, and Planting Plans
- Lead wetland delineations, prepare permit documentation, and assist with wetland restoration design
- Perform watershed, water quality, and aquatic habitat assessments
- Perform stream assessments and assist with restoration design
- Lead habitat surveys and invasive species assessments
- Prepare environmental assessment documentation
- Prepare plans or maps in GIS, MicroStation, or AutoCAD
- Perform construction inspections or management
- Conduct community outreach
- Supervise and mentor junior staff
- Perform task/project management
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Landscape Architecture, Biology, or related field
Experience: Minimum of four years of experience working in a related field.

- Experience with ArcGIS Online, ArcPro, FieldMaps, Survey 123
- Experience with ArcGIS ModelBuilder and/or Python
- Available to occasionally work extended days, weekends, and/or limited overnight travel
- Contributing member of professional organizations
