The Safety and Environmental Specialist (SES) is responsible for managing and enforcing the safety program at a large government facility in Washington, DC ensuring compliance with OSHA, NIOSH, NFPA, NETA, RCRA, and ADA standards. With a minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management on facility operations and maintenance contracts of similar size and complexity, the SES will act as the environmental, health, and safety expert for the facility, working closely with CBS’s corporate Safety Director to implement company-wide safety initiatives.
The SES will also develop and maintain comprehensive safety and environmental plans for the site, conduct daily safety audits, and ensure all safety protocols are rigorously followed. They must have completed a 30-hour OSHA safety course within the last five years and have averaged at least 24 hours of safety training per year over the past five years. Salary range dependent on qualifications and experience $60,000.00 - $70,000.00.
- Implement and enforce CBS’s safety program for all operations ensuring compliance with OSHA, NIOSH, NFPA, NETA, RCRA, and ADA regulations.
- Develop and update the site’s safety and environmental plans to align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Perform daily safety audits across the facility to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Coordinate with CBS’s corporate Safety Director to apply best-in-class safety initiatives.
- Provide safety training and guidance to employees and contractors, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
- Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain safety records and documentation in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Ensure that all safety equipment and procedures are up to date and in good working order.
