Other Conditions: Appointment to begin approximately August 2025, pending position clearance and availability of funding. This appointment is annually renewable, subject to position clearance, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in Geography and Environmental Science (12 credits per semester)
- Engage in scholarly activities and/or endeavors that contribute to the mission of the University
- Participate in department, academic, university and community service
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Geography, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Experience teaching or description of ability to teach Introduction to Environmental Science
- Experience teaching or description of ability to teach courses related to environmental impact assessment, environmental hazards, and natural resource management.
Desirable Qualifications
- PhD in Geography, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Experience teaching or description of ability to teach introductory geography courses, such as World Regional Geography
- Evidence of scholarly productivity in geography, conservation, or environmental science
- Experience and/or interest in teaching field-based courses with an interest in developing a Hawai’i place-based curriculum
- Experience in teaching diverse student populations
