Job Description:
Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has an opening for a Senior Environmental Specialist to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office. Responsibilities include planning, inspection, monitoring, compliance reporting, client interaction, and personnel management for the recycling and stormwater inspection/maintenance projects at BWI and Martin State Airports as well as providing support to other environmental projects, as needed. The position consists primarily of field work and requires the ability to perform confined space entry and lift 50 pounds.
This field office is a designated 24/7 emergency essential facility. Therefore, the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions will be required. Applicants must have the ability to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance and must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.
Estimated Pay Range:
$53,131.16 - $73,055.88

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, or related field from an accredited college or university plus three (3) years of experience in environmental science, regulations, or management. One year of experience must have included managing environmental projects and supervising professional and technical staff. Applicants may substitute an applicable advanced education degree for up to two years of the required experience, excepting supervisory experience.
The preferred candidate will have experience with environmental compliance, environmental mitigation and remediation, and recycling & sustainability programs as well as working within a dynamic, high demand environment. UST/AST tank inspector certification is preferred but not required.
