Our engineers and professionals provide Highway Design and Traffic Engineering, Bridge and Structural Engineering, Civil Design, Surveying and Mapping, Pipeline and Associated Facility Design, Geotechnical/Geophysical, Environmental Studies and Water/Wastewater design.
We are currently seeking an Environmental Scientist/Geologist to join our team in our Enola, PA office location. As part of this role, you will be a part of our environmental team assisting with performing environmental due diligence, assessing project areas for natural resources, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project compliance. Regular travel to field sites is expected and may vary depending on the time of year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments: Perform soil, surface water, and groundwater sampling to evaluate potential contamination risks and support site investigation efforts.
· Conduct Environmental Compliance Audits and Monitoring: Oversee compliance audits (e.g., Tier II, TRI, etc.), ensuring regulatory adherence to environmental laws and standards.
· Develop and Manage Environmental Monitoring and Spill Prevention Plans: Create and maintain plans such as SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure) and SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans), ensuring environmental protection and compliance.
· In-depth Knowledge of Act 2 and Storage Tank Act: Apply detailed understanding of Pennsylvania’s Act 2 and Storage Tank Act, including overseeing tank closure procedures, monitoring, and compliance reporting.
· Prepare Technical Reports and Permit Applications: Draft and submit detailed technical reports, permit applications, and other environmental deliverables documenting field findings and survey observations.
· Maintain Professional Communication: Engage with clients, landowners, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders in a professional and clear manner, fostering positive relationships.
· Work Independently and Collaboratively: Exhibit the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, regularly travel to field locations, meet project deadlines, and uphold a safe and compliant working environment.
