Job Title: Facility Engineer

Overview:
The Facility Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, maintenance, and improvement of building infrastructure, including HVAC systems, control systems, and facility operations. This role involves providing technical assistance in planning and managing building projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing facility operations. The Facility Engineer will report to the Assistant Facilities Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance facility performance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Report to the Assistant Facilities Manager and assist in duties of senior engineers and project managers as required.
- Provide expertise on building HVAC system design, control systems, operations, and maintenance.
- Offer technical assistance in developing, planning, and managing building design and construction projects.
- Prepare facility project plans, preliminary designs, and cost estimates under guidance.
- Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and procedures for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct construction inspections to ensure conformance to requirements.
- Support project documentation, including scope-of-work, purchase requisitions, and cost tracking.
- Assist in project scheduling, budget tracking, and process improvements.
- Manage smaller-scale construction projects, office layouts, and furniture/equipment relocations.
- Oversee and supervise junior team members as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and workplace best practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Key Requirements & Competencies:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, cost estimation, and construction processes.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage projects effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Work involves a combination of indoor and outdoor activities in varying conditions (hot, cold, wet, humid).
- Tasks may require standing, walking, climbing ladders/stairs, balancing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Operation of material handling equipment (forklift, hoist, cranes, etc.) may be required.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and hard hats, is necessary.
- Travel between company locations may be required.
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and hours as needed.

- Reports to the Assistant Facilities Manager.
- Works closely with senior engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams.
- May oversee or guide junior employees within the Facilities Management department.
