What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll be the only Procurement person in SA so this will be your “baby”. You’ll be responsible for sourcing and procuring solar PV products from countries such as Germany, China as well as locally and ensuring that the goods are received on time, in perfect condition and within budget. It will be your focus to negotiate rates and terms, keep and maintain a vendor database and prepare purchase orders. You’ll fulfil requests from the sales and logistics teams and ensure you’re pushing the external providers along to get the best service.

You’d be based at the company’s offices in Cape Town CBD where you’ll join a young team of passionate people all working towards the same goal. The company is big on ownership, in a start-up type environment where everyone is accountable and entrepreneurially minded.

It’s an international company that is a leading supplier of solar PV products and their SA operation is growing. The flat hierarchy will give you plenty of scope to act independently and continue to develop. The MD is a young visionary that encourages an open door policy with open and direct communication while empowering his team to take responsibility for their part in the business.

What you’ll need

Would be great if you have a related qualification but the minimum would be a matric certificate. Important to note that you need to have at least 1 year procurement experience. You’ll ideally have some sort of ERP system experience (they use Microsoft Dynamics) and be MS Office proficient. We’re looking for a goal driven individual that would fit well in to a young and driven start up environment. You’ll be a natural multi tasker, dependable and organised. You’ll have great negotiation skills and an overall positive, enthusiastic approach.
