Job Summary:
As a Carbon Fiber Product Development Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our R&D team, assisting with the analysis and testing of composite intermediates, and helping develop innovative carbon fiber products. This internship provides the opportunity to apply your knowledge, gain practical experience, and contribute to real-world projects that will shape the future of composite materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the analysis and testing of composite intermediates to support product development.
- Perform and coordinate tests, collecting and analyzing data to improve product performance.
- Generate trial materials for different iterations of products, learning hands-on techniques for testing and material creation.
- Assist with lab projects involving compounding, injection molding, and chopping of carbon fibers.
- Help mix epoxy and vinyl ester resins for various product applications.
- Collaborate with team members and managers to ensure smooth workflow and communicate findings.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a college-level program in Mechanical, Structural (Civil), Materials, or Chemical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures carefully.
- Ability to alert management to issues or difficulties when they arise.
- Basic understanding of Newtonian Physics and higher-level mathematics.
- Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by keeping equipment and work areas organized.
- Active participation in safety culture and effective communication with team members.
Work Environment:
You’ll be working in a dynamic and diverse environment that includes both office and lab settings. Occasionally, you may be exposed to a plant environment with:
- Noise, moving mechanical parts, and fumes of airborne particles.

Physical Demands:
- Intermittent physical activity such as bending, reaching, and extended periods of sitting.
- Regular use of hands for tasks such as handling equipment and working on computers.
