DescriptionOur ideal candidate will:
- Develop strong CATIA V5 skills and enjoy working in a global company for launching new projects at TPI’s production sites worldwide.
- Create 3D blade layup models; Develop expertise in best practices and documentation procedures.
- Develop glass patterns, core kits and laser projection files for TPI’s wind blade production lines from the 3D blade layup model.
- Create drawings, Production standards, Engineering Change orders and communicate with external suppliers
- Travel to international production sites for NPI and interface with multiple Cross Functional engineering teams.
- Produce high quality project deliverables on schedule.
- Monitor 3D Model details from tooling fabrication up through production of first blades.
- Mentor new engineers in the 3D layup creation process and implement improvements from lessons learnt.
- Serve as the expert on customer’s technical requirements by reviewing and understanding all related drawings, models, and specifications.
Required Skills and Education
- 5+ years of 3D CAD modelling experience REQUIRED (CATIA V5 Highly Preferred)
- Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or related field
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
- A minimum basic knowledge of composite manufacturing.
- Travel to TPI’s manufacturing plants 20% of the time (Turkey, Mexico, China, USA)
- Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills and Education
- Experience with CATIA is highly preferred.
- Wind blade manufacturing experience
- Master’s in mechanical engineering or related field
- Process knowledge of Vacuum Infusion Molding
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools, drafting and GD&T
Applicants must be local to the Chennai, India area. The position is for an on-site employee from the TPI corporate office.
