Safety Health & Environmental Specialist - Environmental Engineer
ChampionX, has an immediate need for an Environmental Engineer located in Sugar Land, TX at our Chemical Plant. This is your opportunity to join a large growing company offering a competitive base salary and benefits.
What You Will Do:
- Drive Goal Zero culture and initiatives.
- Ensures that Sugar Land plant procedures and programs comply with TCEQ and EPA environmental regulations.
- Oversees permitting activities applicable to chemical manufacturing Texas including: PBRs to authorize emissions, NSR Permits Title V Permit, Toxic Release Inventory, and Continuous Monitoring Systems
- Experience preparing permit applications and amendments, implementing LDAR programs, compliance reports for regulatory agencies such including emissions inventories, spill reports, and deviation reports.
- Assist the plant with monitoring, sampling, waste shipment tracking and testing programs as needed and to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements and environmental permit limitations.
- Update as needed Risk Management Plan (RMP), Spill Pollution, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SW3P)
- Excellent verbal and written communication with abilities to present regulatory and compliance information to managers and plant operators. Functional user of MS Office, proficiency with Excel. Previous use of SAP is a plus. Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with co-workers, consultants, and agency personnel.
- Requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and employ basic reasoning skills.
- Other duties as required.
- Maintains confidentiality of all matters.
- Support the Plant as the environmental expert during third party audits, such as: CXCAP, ISO45001, TCEQ, and EPA.
- Partners with employees, management and Front Line Leadership.
Preferred Qualifications: Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
- 5 + years of experience in a manufacturing supply chain environment
- Previous leadership and/or training experience
- Incident investigation experience with focus on Root Cause Analysis (I.e., TapRoot, 5-Why).
- Experience with TPM, Lean Manufacturing
- Knowledge of DOT requirements
- Knowledge of ISO or other quality management systems
- This will be a local position based in Sugar Land, TX
- Work week and shift: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (may vary). To be available on call for any emergency
