General Statement of Duties
The Office of Environment (OES) CPI Fellow role is a part-time fellowship for the duration of 2024. The role will include a diverse office-level work and civic services. The nature of the work will be based on organizational need and individual interests and skills. Candidates should be detail-oriented, dependable, and a positive team player as they will be managing and supporting the execution of key departmental priorities in a fast-paced environment. OES is mainly focused on facilitating the execution of the Green Cincinnati Plan. This team member will play a key role in building a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient Cincinnati
The role will be based in City Hall with some duties occurring off-site on an intermittent basis. Access to transportation is required.
The position is designed to be a time-limited experience. The Fellow will have the option to apply for any available and applicable roles within the department or the city upon conclusion of the 2025 calendar year.

Facilitates well-established and documented programming
Supports launch and execution of pilot programs
Gathers updates and shares communications on behalf of the department
Attends community outreach events to represent the department
Answers communications, questions, and complaints by email, phone, or in person
Maintains updated public communication tools
Specific Office of Environmental (OES) Program Role :
Zero waste support
Youth climate action support
Green workforce effort
Food program and policy support
Communications support including website updates and outreach events
And other needs as they arise and are appropriate

Required Education and Experience
In order to qualify for the OES CPI Fellowship, individuals must be:
- Between the ages of 18-24
- A U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or a non-citizen with proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Submit a City job application for employment
Due to the focus of the Career Pathways Initiative (CPI) Fellowship, priority will be given to candidates who live within the city limits, graduated from Cincinnati Public Schools, and/or have prior Youth 2 Work employment experience with the City.
