Knowledge, Skills and Other Requirements
• Bachelor Degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related EH&S field) with at least five (5) years of experience leading various EHS areas such as Environmental, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene in the Pharmaceutical industry or at least ten (10) years of experience working directly in EHS.
• Fully cognizant of applicable Federal and Commonwealth rules and regulations
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and capable of working with minimal direct supervision.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Computer knowledge
• Completely bilingual (Spanish and English).
Responsibilities
1. Perform Job Hazard Analysis for maintenance, calibrations, manufacturing, and warehouse tasks. Perform risk ranking evaluations and provide recommendations as required.
2. Provides technical and regulatory guidance on industrial hygiene and safety and process safety issues, focusing on recognizing, evaluating, and controlling physical, chemical, and environmental hazards.
3. Advice management on the proper procedures, work practices, and equipment to ensure compliance with all legal requirements and regulations in these fields.
4. Reviews capital renovations and new construction projects to address environmental, industrial hygiene, and Safety issues.
5. Performs as the Client's liaison person with legal and regulatory agencies during site audits and inspections, permit renovations, and site contact for EHS community outreach activities and the Community Awareness & Emergency Response Program.
6. Enhance the EHS management of change program and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR).
7. Perform evaluations as requested in the Process Safety Management program for the Mechanical Integrity, Process Safety Information and Process Hazard Analysis.
8. Perform emergency response equipment inventory inspections.
9. Participates in process hazard reviews of new and existing equipment to address environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety issues.
10. Guides the proper selection of personal protective equipment.
11. Perform Job Hazard Analysis for contractors and contractor safety programs.
12. Participates in the departmental environmental, health and safety inspection program.
13. Assists safety programs such as confined spaces, lockout / tagout, electrical safety, fall protection, Compressed Gas Cylinders, industrial-powered lift truck, and fire protection.
14. Perform daily field inspections to areas, projects, and annual maintenance activities.
15. Experience implementing the Lone Worker program.
16. Actively participate in EHS Committee.
17. Keeps abreast of current technologies and regulatory trends.
18. Performs other related duties, as required.
