EnSafe is accepting applications for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist/Staff Geologist/Engineer based out of EnSafe’s Hartford, CT office.

What We Are Looking For
As an EHS Specialist/Staff Geologist/Engineer, you will work on a wide range of projects in an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration at all levels, a culture of support, and professional growth. What You Will Be Doing:
- Supporting customer compliance with EHS regulations and standards
- Preparing and submitting regulatory reports in addition to documentation (e.g. EPCRA Tier 2 and Form R, etc.)
- Gathering, organizing, summarizing, and reporting environmental and/or health and safety data for our clients
- Conducting site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and identify corrective actions
- Developing and delivering EHS training programs
- Performing site investigation activities including sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, indoor air, soil gas, drinking water, and building materials
- Conducting personal and area industrial hygiene surveys
- Performing risk assessments addressing process hazards
- Manage field documentation and writing technical reports
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a BS in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Geology, Engineering, or related scientific field
- 2-7 years of experience in EHS compliance or consulting
- Strong data management and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Programs including Word and Excel
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to travel frequently for field assignments (local travel 30-40% of the time, regional travel with some overnight stays)
- Experience with multimedia environmental sampling methods
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with on-site safety inspections/audits, LOTO, machine guarding, confined spaces and JSAs
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing environments
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with large industries, federal facilities, or superfund sites is a plus
- Certification for Asbestos and Lead Inspector is a plus
- Professional registration, certification, GIS, geotechnical, and/or geophysics experience are a plus
