Asia Pacific Sustainability Coordinator
Opportunity
Our ideal candidate should be a forward-thinking and hands-on individual who is passionate in integrating sustainability best practices into business operations. He/She will be actively participating in the development and execution of our sustainability action plan. The Asia Pacific Sustainability Coordinator will collaborate with different stakeholders across the organization to coordinate and promote effective sustainability initiatives, report sustainability KPIs and use them to drive improvement to these metrics.
Reporting Line & Location
The Asia Pacific Sustainability Coordinator will report to the Asia Pacific Sustainability Manager.
The role will be based in Malaysia.
Main Accountabilities
Support regional CSRD-aligned sustainability reporting, ensuring accurate monthly data collection, validation, and consolidation.
Gather and validate ESG data for the annual audit, ensuring timely submission and supporting the overall assurance process and publication of annual Integrated Report.
Conduct monthly review of ESG KPIs, track progress toward short- and long-term goals, identify gaps and take corrective actions when needed.
Work closely with the APAC Sustainability Manager to improve the overall reporting quality in line with GHG protocol and CSRD requirements.
Contribute to the development of internal sustainability reporting protocols and guidelines.
Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on reporting processes and best practices.
Coordinate with the local entities to implement the regional decarbonization roadmap.
Facilitate, monitor and track progress on annual supplier ESG assessments and audits in collaboration with the Group, principal managers and sourcing departments.
Provide necessary guidance and follow up closely with suppliers to ensure the timely implementation of corrective action plans resulting from the third-party ESG assessments or audits.
Contribute to the design and implementation of sustainability training program to engage and empower employees, fostering the adoption of sustainable business practices and supporting the achievement of overall IMPACT 30 sustainability goals.
Track and monitor the implementation of local CSR initiatives (Because Giving Back Matters).
Coordinate regional inputs required for corporate projects such as CDP, EcoVadis assessment, Sustainalytics, Double Materiality Assessment and Climate Risk Assessment.
Skills & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science or similarly related field,
2-3 years of relevant experience in sustainability or environment projects,
Experience in sustainable supply chain including scope 3 emissions, metrics, rating and reporting systems is a strong asset,
Familiarity with ESG issues, climate risk and reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, etc.), as well as sustainability and ESG reporting software platforms creates an added value;
Proficient in English.
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Excellent writing abilities.
Able to liaise with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
Team player.
Excellent time management skills in order to follow different assigned targets.
Highly organized, hands-on, able to work well under pressure, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong sense of ownership, initiative and drive (problem solver, self-starter and forward thinker with a bias for prompt action and removing roadblocks, accountable to get things done in a timely manner).
