GLOW Seasonal Cultural Guide at Sydney Zoo
Located in the heart of Western Sydney, Sydney Zoo strives to showcase a broad range of native and exotic animals using technology and advanced exhibit design, with a strong focus on animal welfare, conservation, and educating our visitors about animals and their habitats. Environmental and social awareness play a vital role in our message that highlights the indigenous culture and human influence on the environment.
The Position
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the casual crew at Sydney's newest zoo through the biggest and brightest light festival in Western Sydney- GLOW 2025!
As a Cultural Guide, you will be responsible for assisting in a face-painting activity during a major event at Sydney Zoo, while maintaining outstanding customer service and creating a fun and friendly atmosphere.
The seasonal positions will be required for the evenings and weekends during our winter event, which is anticipated to run for two months. A limited number of further work opportunities may be available for outstanding candidates to stay on at Sydney Zoo on a regular casual basis.
Skills, Knowledge, and Relevant Experience
- Aboriginality (Note: This is a genuine Aboriginal position as defined by Section 14 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).
- Ability to take instruction from team supervisors, contribute effectively in a team, and be prepared to share the work load with fellow team members.
- Interest to undertake and learn about Aboriginal Darug culture during on the job training.
