They are now looking to employ a Senior Buyer to join the Procurement Department in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will support procurement activities for Solar PV, BESS and wind projects across Sub-Saharan Africa, ensuring effective contract negotiations and supplier management. This role will involve working closely with various departments to facilitate procurement processes and contract execution.

Duties & Responsibilities

Procurement and Contract Management

  • Support the Business Development Department by tendering and negotiating Heads of Terms with EPC, civil, and electrical contractors for photovoltaic and wind projects.
  • Assist the Engineering and Construction Department in negotiating and finalizing construction contracts and amendments.
  • Manage procurement processes for non-core departments, including ICT, Communications, and Human Resources.
  • Prepare and issue procurement reports, including expenditure tracking and procurement status updates.

Stakeholder and Supplier Engagement

  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers and contractors to optimize procurement terms.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and best practices.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or related roles within the Energy (Renewable energy preferably) or related industries.
  • Experience in negotiating construction contracts for large projects.
  • Knowledge of FIDIC or NEC contract templates.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • South African ID.
