Position Summary:
The Campus Operations Coordinator at LACI plays an essential role in the facilities management of the La Kretz Innovation Campus, a LEED Platinum facility (WELL re-certification in process). This role will be responsible for the performance and maintenance of building equipment and services, including coordinating janitorial, security, parking vendors. Reporting to the Director of Campus Operations, this role will also support the implementation of pilots and displays on Campus, community management, and help implement green building best practices.

What You’ll Do:
- Facilities Maintenance and Coordination: Implement a robust, sustainability-focused facility and equipment management program, including: installation per manufacturer’s specifications, preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements , proactive equipment repairs, and coordination of facility inspections to ensure compliance with occupant health, safety, and industry standards and industry codes. Coordinate maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment, tenant improvements, and construction. Coordinate the Campus Pilot and Display review process and implementation.
- Sustainability: Track facility sustainability data and offer recommendations for how to improve the facility’s sustainability performance. Coordinate the implementation of LEED, WELL, and sustainability best practices while monitoring energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste diversion. Work with the Campus team to maintain/apply for LEED, WELL and other certifications.
- Community Culture: Serve as the primary point of contact for Campus Members’ facility-related requests, comfort issues, and needs. Assist with relevant community outreach, programming, and events. Support the reception area and Front Desk. Lead Campus tours.

Vendor Management & Purchasing: Maintain an updated, prioritized list of current and upcoming facility projects. Ensure LACI is following proper procurement policies. Obtain quotes from vendors and suppliers as well as calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness
for janitorial, security, parking, and environmental health and safety . Support AP needs for vendor invoices including coding for accounts payables
- Emergency Preparedness: Act as a floor warden and key point of contact under the Director of Campus Operations for all emergency preparedness planning. This includes coordinating the emergency planning and training for the Campus as well as maintaining emergency preparedness plans, updating documentation, scheduling trainings (including CPR/First Aid training for floor wardens) and ensuring Campus Members have received the most up to date version of the plan.

Requirements:
Basically, we want to know you can get the job done. This means you have:
- Experience working in facilities, green buildings, or sustainability
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets
- Outstanding organization and leadership abilities
- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
- A LEED AP, WELL, or other relevant green building certifications are a plus
- Excellent writing and communication skills are required
- Ability to nimbly manage multiple projects and deadlines is a must
- A proactive, pro-environment, pro-solutions professional dedicated to making the world a cleaner, safer, better place to live in through the effective implementation of new sustainable technologies.
- While LACI is a non-profit, it more closely resembles a start-up with a rapidly changing environment. The successful employee will need to play multiple positions well, be comfortable in a results-oriented culture, and not require day-to-day hand holding to be successful.
- Experience working with/managing security contractor/vendors preferred
Work Requirements
- Must work onsite from our Downtown LA office 5 days a week.
- Needs to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must maintain CPR / First Aid certification and serve as an Emergency Preparedness Team Member.
Position Details:
This is a full-time position, starting immediately. LACI operates out of the La Kretz Innovation Campus, in the bustling Downtown LA Arts District. Since we are rapidly growing, you will be getting in on the ground floor at LACI, with the opportunity to evolve with us and shape your future here. Some travel may be required.
Salary Range: Coordinator Range $54-64k commensurate with experience, education, skills, etc and total compensation package including health benefits, 401k match, professional development, commuter benefits and more.
