What will you do?
In this highly visible and pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation for Schneider Electric’s cutting-edge Ethernet automation products and systems. Your responsibilities will include envisioning, prototyping, and validating advanced automation control solutions tailored to meet evolving market needs. You will work closely with our R&D and architecture teams to develop groundbreaking proof of concepts and explore emerging technologies. Additionally, you will play a vital role in creating engaging demonstrations for industry fairs, showcasing our innovative solutions to partners and customers. Your technical expertise will support field engineers, enhance technical sales efforts, and contribute to aid solutions from concept to go to market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop proof of concepts and support the creation of demos for industry fairs, showcasing future solutions to key stakeholders, including partners and customers.
- Perform system-level design and validation of complex control systems to ensure compatibility with Schneider Electric’s preferred architectures.
- Provide product and application expertise to create comprehensive technical documentation for internal and external customers.
- Develop and present technical presentations and demonstrations to engage potential stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Who will you report to?
- You will report to the Network Competency Center and Engineering Services Manager. This position is requiring you to work 4 days per week in the Andover, MA office with flexibility and up to 25% travel expected annually.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of applicable experience in industrial control system integration and/or field service
- Expertise in system-level industrial control solutions, with direct experience in industrial Ethernet networks. Knowledge of Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and OPC UA is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to troubleshoot complex system issues and perform high-level diagnostics of industrial network protocols, including Ethernet TCP/IP.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux-based platforms.
- Understanding of industry standards, including IEC 61499, IEC 61131-3, and IEC 61850.
- Having a solid understanding of technologies like 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and Generative AI is beneficial.
- Fundamental understanding of communications networks, including protocols, network components, design elements, and architecture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with effective presentation skills for internal and external audiences.
- Basic understanding of PLC hardware and associated programming languages.
- Experience with design integration in control solutions, including PLCs, distributed I/O, sensors, variable speed drives, motor controls, and SCADA is a plus.
