ABOUT THE POSITION:
The ‘Senior Product Test Engineer I’ will be critical in helping Fluence deploy the next generation of energy storage technology. The ‘Senior Product Test Engineer I’ will be responsible for defining, developing, and executing high level strategy, plans and tests related to the hardware of the battery energy storage system, subsystems, and associated components. As an integral member of our engineering team, you will contribute to the development and improvement of energy storage technologies that have a significant impact on the renewable energy landscape.
As a Senior Product Test Engineer I at Fluence, you will:
•Develop a deep understanding of the electrical, mechanical and structural aspects of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), including battery enclosure, control system, fire suppression system, 1500Vdc battery system and air or liquid based cooling system.
•Develop product specific test strategy, high-level test plans and procedures based on design documentations and requirements specifications.
•Define acceptance criteria for tests.
•Define clear goals for all aspects of a product test and develop steps for their proper execution.
•Collaborate with engineering teams to define test requirements and validate designs.
•Investigate and analyze test failures to provide valuable feedback to the development team.
•Perform tests to verify system functionality and to ensure conformity of product specifications to quality standards.
•Champion test system improvement projects by identifying opportunities to improve existing test station software and hardware.
•Setup and conduct testing. Document and monitor test outcomes.
•Develop detailed specifications for proposed solutions based on test outcomes.
•Develop detailed documentation with test results and prepare relevant test reports.
•Collaborate with third-party vendors and external testing agencies.
•Perform failure analysis, review, and analyze data to drive corrective actions.
What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
•Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or similar.
•5+ years industry experience required (Utility, Wind, Solar, or Thermal energy equipment supplier).
•Previous testing experience is strongly preferred.
•Knowledge of testing procedures and engineering.
•Strong communicator (written and verbal).
•Good technical writing skills.
•Ability to travel up to 40% of time.
•Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
•Good problem-solving skills.
•Able to manage projects.
•Must possess a desire to take on tough and challenging projects.
