Job Description
Position: Regional Director, Business Development – WECC / SPP
Location: Nashville, TN or Remote
Overview:
The Regional Director, Business Development reports to the SVP, Business Development and is responsible for implementing business development initiatives that align with the company's growth strategy. This includes new business generation, customer relationship management, and identifying acquisition opportunities within the WECC and SPP regions.
Main Responsibilities:
- The direct responsibility of this role will be to originate and develop of utility-scale solar and solar-plus-Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) business opportunities by establishing strong regional utility relationships.
- The candidate must take a leading role in developing and maintaining consistent and reliable communication with regional utilities to establish Silicon Ranch as the trusted solar energy and BESS provider. This will entail understanding and navigating each utility’s unique energy procurement mechanisms, including tariffs, RFPs, or bilateral agreements, to align project proposals with procurement opportunities.
- The role requires the individual to collaborate with internal teams including interconnection, project development, and utility planning, to develop market- ready assets that meet our utility customers needs and align with strategic commercial goals.
- The individual will be required to maintain a strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements, permitting, interconnection, incentives, and any other factors governing the successful development of solar and solar-plus-BESS in the SPP and WECC region. Subsequently the individual will lead the preparation and delivery of competitive pricing and customer proposals, ensuring alignment with company objectives and securing senior executive buy-in.
- The Regional Director, Business Development may be responsible for fostering long-term relationships with utility partners and other key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to support continued business growth.
- The individual will represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and discipline to achieve goals and development relationships for the Company.

Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Energy, Engineering, or a related field; a graduate degree is a plus.
Experience:
• 8+ years of experience in energy or electric utility sector, with a preference for solar project development or power market expertise.
• Proven track record for developing and maintain strong relationships within the energy industry.
Technical:
• Relevant experience in the US renewable energy market, project development or interconnection experience is desirable.
