Job Description
CIMA+ is currently looking for a Senior Environmental Project Manager whose main role will be to support our clients in realizing projects in compliance with environmental regulations and minimizing their impact on the environment.
To this end, you will coordinate the work of team members to carry out regulatory analyses, environmental permit applications and impact studies. We execute a wide range of projects for public and private sector clients, using multidisciplinary teams.
The Project Manager's main role is to support our customers in carrying out projects in compliance with environmental regulations and minimizing their impact on the environment. To this end, the Project Manager coordinates the work of team members to carry out regulatory analyses, environmental permit applications and impact assessments. Our projects are highly varied in nature, carried out on behalf of both public and private clients by multidisciplinary teams.
Main responsibilities
- Lead and plan environmental impact studies and other federal or provincial environmental assessments, as part of multidisciplinary teams
- Coordinate sector studies in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Coordinate the development of environmental monitoring and follow-up programs
- Target and provide technical advice on environmental issues
- Draft environmental specifications and participate in the preparation of design studies
- Plan and supervise the preparation of environmental authorization applications
- Lead and support team members in carrying out mandates
- Ensure the application of our health, safety and environment (HSE) program
- Manage budgets and deadlines for mandates
- Liaise with customers
- Ensure quality control of work performed
- Participate in the preparation of service proposals
Qualifications
- University degree or master’s degree in environmental sciences, ecology, biology, geography or equivalent, demonstrating knowledge of potential interactions between project development and the existing environment.
- Excellent knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation and regulations
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the environmental field, particularly in environmental permit applications or environmental impact studies.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills
- Experience in mining projects (an asset)
- Experience in a private consulting firm (an asset)
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), Ordre des géologues du Québec (OGQ), Association des biologistes du Québec (ABQ) or Association québécoise des entrepreneurs en infrastructure (AQEI), an asset
- Excellent spoken and written French, fluency in English (an asset)
- Mobility and driver’s licence for occasional trips requiring a vehicle
- ASP card (an asset)
