As a Specialist Sustainability, you will play a key role in ensuring our operations meet the highest sustainability and environmental standards while driving positive impact across the business.
Your Impact in This Role
As Specialist Sustainability, you will be responsible for providing expertise in environmental compliance, sustainability strategies, and stakeholder engagement to ensure Sibelco meets its regulatory and operational sustainability goals.
As Specialist Sustainability, you will:
- Support legal & environmental compliance – Assist in permitting, land use planning, regulatory assessments, and environmental impact management.
- Ensure compliance & risk management – Monitor sustainability risks, track environmental obligations, and support site audits.
- Manage land & site sustainability – Contribute to land negotiations, closure plans, GIS mapping, and sustainability initiatives for operational sites.
- Engage with stakeholders – Collaborate with authorities, NGOs, and local communities while supporting sustainability communication and reports.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience working with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to assess and mitigate sustainability risks and develop actionable strategies.
- Experience in community engagement, land management, and regulatory negotiations is an asset.
- Fluency in English (verbal & written) is essential. Proficiency in French is required.
