RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Having strong knowledge of the strategic regional plastic waste and mechanical recycling landscape, industry structure, market trends and competitive dynamics
- Apply knowledge of markets, customers, products, technology, manufacturing and feedstock positions and sustainability/circular economy topics to support mechanical recycling feedstock sourcing and concept development for sustainable new business development projects
- Conduct customer needs assessments to fully understand best-fit material solutions for short and long-term growth; communicate those needs internally and collaborate with key functions such as New Business Development, Sales, Technical Service, Marketing, Technology and Asset Management to ensure alignment on growth and market strategies
- Identify key innovation opportunities based on sustainable feedstock at the top tier OEM(s) based on a deep technical understanding of applications and customer performance/economic requirements
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with the New Business Development, Sales, Technical Service and Marketing teams to give line of sight to where/how our products are, or will be, moving through the value chain
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Communication Skills: Able to work effectively with senior managers from diverse cultural backgrounds; seeks input and involvement of others in matters requiring wide support; builds consensus around complex issues; communicates messages in a clear way that does not leave room for ambiguous interpretation
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent application and product related technical skills. Especially in the polymer recycling field
Experience in sourcing, processing and application technologies in the polymer recycling field
- Experience in seeing new opportunities (multiply project or a new material development)
- Experience in cross-functional projects and resource management
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- University or college degree (or equivalent) in other scientific or technical (preferably polymer) area.
Five to ten years of relevant professional experience in a commercial (sales, marketing, business development or product management) role within the polymer industry, preferably in the recycling business sector
- Basic IT capabilities (e-mail, MS-EXCEL, MS-WORD, MS-POWERPOINT, SAP…).
Language: besides the mother tongue good in English (written and spoken)
- Willingness to frequently travel within EU
