Who We Are:
The Natural Resources Department of Sullivan County NH manages County lands (~2200 acres) and provides environmental assistance county-wide through its Sullivan County Conservation District program. The mission of the department is to conserve and improve natural resources through management, landowner assistance and educational outreach. We help farmers, host workshops, and partner with area schools. Sullivan County Natural Resources seeks a sustainability educator to promote eco-literacy, manage outreach, and assist with projects and programs.

Job Summary:
Sullivan County Natural Resources (SCNR) is looking for a motivated and creative Sustainability Educator. The successful candidate will be a confident coordinator and presenter familiar with regenerative food practices, renewable energy and place-based ecology education.
Working closely with the SCNR Director, the Sustainability Educator will:
- Promote education on regenerative agriculture, energy and ecological systems in Sullivan County by: assisting and partnering with schools, teachers, and School Administrative Unit (SAU) staff to connect K-12 students and teachers with their food, soil and communities; maintaining an Eco-Ag Center and education hub on Sullivan County lands, and; working collaboratively with network partners to develop network structure and increase capacity.
- Represent Sullivan County as a member of the Upper Valley Teaching Place Collaborative to build connections to regional environmental resources, partnerships and opportunities for collective work
- Oversee SCNR outreach and help to administer programs and activities, including workshops; educational forums and events; plant sales; grant-writing and administration; conservation projects; County lands management, and Conservation District Board meetings. The incumbent will spend half of their time in this role.
Typical Qualifications

- are familiar with and excited about natural resources, sustainability-focused agriculture and renewable energy
- possess good organizational skills and have a knack for logistics and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- enjoy working with kids, teachers and volunteers
- are an effective communicator who is comfortable leading classes, making presentations and creating curriculum
- are a natural relationship builder and enjoy working collaboratively
- have experience with website management, Facebook, eblasts and other forms of public outreach
- have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in natural resources, environmental education or environmental science, and/or at least one year of experience farming
- have a valid driver’s license
Supplemental Information
Compensation:
This is a full-time position. The salary range is $46,000 - $50,000 plus benefits, which include Health Insurance, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Dental Insurance, Life & Long-Term Disability Insurance, Retirement, Earned Time, and paid holidays.
