TITLE: Coordinator, Individual Giving

REPORTS TO: Assistant Director, Individual Giving & Leadership Councils
STATUS: Full-time, Exempt
SALARY: $50,000 - $54,000
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Development Coordinator, Individual Giving will play an integral role on the Individual Giving team. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Individual Giving & Leadership Councils, this position will work closely with both internal and external Development partners, providing essential support for the management and fundraising efforts of the Auxiliary Board and President’s Council. This role will serve as a liaison between Shedd Aquarium and Aquarium Council members, ensuring the fulfillment of member benefits as needed. Additionally, this position will collaborate with individual gift officers to accurately maintain donor records, oversee portfolio reviews, and support the cultivation and stewardship efforts of major and leadership annual gift donors and prospects.

- Work in partnership with gift officers to maintain accurate individual donor records in Tessitura. This maintenance includes, but is not limited to, documenting visit notes, donor communications and event attendance tracking.
- Manage portfolio reviews for Individual Giving team gift officers as needed.
- Support Assistant Director, Individual Giving & Leadership Councils in managing Shedd’s volunteer leaders on the Auxiliary Board and President’s Council, responsible for managing the tracking of and reporting on fundraising, engagement, communications for each group.
- Support the fulfillment of concierge member benefits in partnership with the Individual Giving team to facilitate personalized tours, parking requests and more, to steward members and donors giving below $2,500/annually.
- Oversee data integrity for major and leadership annual gifts received by the Individual Giving team to ensure gifts are accurately documented and reflect donor intent.
- Develop an understanding of Shedd priorities to assist with the cultivation of major and leadership annual gift prospects.
- Provide support to the Auxiliary Board, President’s Council, and their networks to ensure the seamless delivery of donor benefits and stewardship opportunities.
- Support the planning and execution of Auxiliary Board and President's Council events and meetings.
- Assist with Development Department-hosted after-hours or weekend events and lead routine tours, particularly for volunteer leaders or their networks upon request.
- Coordinate stewardship emails and mailings to Auxiliary Board, President’s Council, and their networks around their life events and achievements.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
Experience: 1-2 years fundraising, marketing, sales, communications or related experience, including internship experience.

- Professionalism when interacting with a variety of people
- Some database experience, especially Tessitura, strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and manipulating/formatting data in Excel
