What you will be doing.

The Geotechnical Engineer will work on engineering and consultancy assignments for offshore wind farm and oil and gas projects on a global basis. The Geotechnical Engineer will work as part of a team to deliver complex geotechnical engineering projects.


  • Provide input to geosciences work packages for offshore wind developments to ensure delivery of allocated tasks/packages within established timelines, budgets, and quality standards, including but not limited to:
  • Strategy and management plan preparation
  • Development of survey specifications
  • Preparation of procurement documentation
  • Tender management and evaluation
  • Survey management
  • Data and package interfaces management
  • Support a variety of engineering analyses including foundation design, leg penetration/extraction analysis, drivability analyses, geotechnical interpretations and cable route assessment.
  • Contribute to desk studies and assess sources of site information prior to field investigations.
  • Contribute to reviewing of geotechnical designs, method statements and submissions by third parties to ensure geotechnical issues are accounted for.
  • Develop domain knowledge and areas of expertise relevant to geotechnical engineering, whilst staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

 

THE CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO LIVE AND WORK IN TAIWAN. 
 

The role is offered on a hybrid working mode, i.e. combination of working from home and office attendance with flexibility to working hours. Occasional travel within APAC and further overseas is foreseen.  

Some offshore work may be possible but not necessary  

What we are looking for.

The successful candidate will have good communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership ability, and be able to deal effectively with multiple issues and assignments simultaneously. In addition, you will:

  • A bachelor’s degree in geotechnical engineering or related STEM field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in an engineering/renewables consultancy with projects, particularly in geotechnical engineering.
  • Expertise in one or more typical subject matter areas, such as geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, etc.
  • Commercial experience in engineering consultancy.
  • Project orientated with a keen interest and knowledge of the offshore geotechnical engineering industry and project management.

Desirable:
  • Member of a relevant professional institutional body.
  • Project management ability, official project management qualification (e.g. IPMA, PMI) is advantageous.
  •  Experience in the development, construction or operation of offshore wind projects.
  • Experience of conducting lenders technical advisor assignments.
  • Understanding of technical and commercial aspects of renewable energy infrastructure projects.
  • Experience of managing work of others at a task level.
