We are looking for a dynamic Consulting Survey Manager, to join our team and lead offshore survey work packages for offshore development projects, covering survey strategy, specification development, procurement, execution, and data integration.
What you will be doing.
The Consulting Survey Manager will provide technical expertise in geophysical, geotechnical, and positioning surveys, ensuring high-quality data acquisition and interpretation to support engineering teams. The role involves overseeing contractor performance, managing survey interfaces, reviewing third-party deliverables for compliance with industry standards, and contributing to business development through client engagement, proposal preparation, and industry representation
- Lead and manage subsea survey geoscience work packages
- Support multidisciplinary OWC engineering teams by providing geoscience expertise for:
- Independently develop and price OWC proposals, including Invitation to Tender (ITT) responses
- Conduct and oversee site characterization studies, including desk-based research and evaluation of available site information prior to field investigations.
- Review and provide technical assurance on geotechnical designs, method statements, and third-party submissions to ensure compliance with project and industry requirements.
- Ensure project deliverables adhere to approved instructions, procedures, and policies while maintaining quality and technical excellence.
- Lead business development activities, including client engagement, proposal preparation, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and forums by writing and delivering technical papers, promoting expertise in offshore wind geosciences.
- Always comply with the company QHSE policies, manuals, procedures, work systems and regulations at ABL premises, projects and client sites.
THE CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO LIVE AND WORK IN TAIWAN.
The role is offered on a hybrid working mode, i.e. combination of working from home and office attendance with flexibility to working hours. Occasional travel within APAC and further overseas is foreseen.
What we are looking for.
We are looking for a driven and solution-oriented professional with sound technical skills with industry expertise in technical elements of offshore subsea survey acquisition and interpretation. The successful candidate will have good communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership ability, and be able to deal effectively with multiple issues and assignments simultaneously.
In addition, you will have:
· Degree-qualified in a relevant subject (e.g., Geoscience, Hydrography, Geotechnical Engineering, Marine Surveying, or related discipline)
· 5+ years proven experience in an element of subsea survey operations and management, gained from offshore developer, consultancy, survey contracting, or certification perspectives (or other if relevant)
· Good English communication skills and excellent report writing skills
· Working knowledge of GIS, data visualization, or geospatial analysis tools.
· Working knowledge of foundation design as well as offshore design and construction.
Desirable:
· Direct working experience as geosciences package manager and or survey manager
· Offshore survey acquisition experience, including geophysical, geotechnical, or positioning surveys.
· Experience managing survey specifications, procurement processes, and contractor oversight
· Experience reviewing and interpreting geotechnical reports, foundation assessments, and survey deliverables
· Experience in conference presentations, technical paper writing, or representing organizations in industry forums
· Familiarity with industry standards such as IOGP, IMCA, and regulatory frameworks for offshore developments.
· Knowledge of GIS, data visualization, or geospatial analysis tools.
