Basic Qualifications

Job Description

IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, Vandenburg Air Force Base or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.

Set-up, adjust and operate automatic solar cell soldering and brazing machines; prepare and attach cell assemblies to rigid or flexible substrates per blueprint and manufacturing process specifications. Prepare and similarly attach various solar cell cover filters on solar modules. Solder electrical components or place in ovens or under lights for specified times and heat cycles. Perform in-process heat soak and electrical continuity checks and make continuity and high voltage checks on completed assemblies. Sort cell assemblies into specified groups.

Trouble-shoot assemblies for the purpose of locating and correcting wiring errors, cell fractures or other similar deficiencies.

Determine sequence of operations for disassembly, cell preparations, soldering, brazing, potting and assembly of solar devices.

Perform rework wherein the operations are essentially the same as required for the work described herein.

Desired skills

• Current skillsets required to obtain certifications such as soldering, crimp, cable/harness assembly, adhesive/polymeric bonding and filleting, torquing and the ability to use other certifiable tools as required.
• Experience with use of SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Ability to work extended shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

The base range for this position in California is $19.80 - $35.06.
