ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
An Electrical Solar Panel Installer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar panel systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Install photovoltaic (solar) panels on rooftops, ground-mounted systems, and other structures.
• Install and connect electrical components such as inverters, batteries, and charge controllers.
• Perform electrical work to connect solar panels to the electrical grid or standalone systems.
• Ensure all wiring adheres to local electrical codes and safety standards.
• Install conduit systems as needed.
• Diagnose and repair issues related to solar systems, including wiring, inverters, and batteries.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of systems.
• Conduct electrical tests on the installed solar systems to ensure functionality.
• Ensure that systems are operating within specifications, including voltage levels and performance metrics.
• Adherent safety procedures and guidelines to prevent electrical accidents and injuries.
• Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and national electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain the installation process and any maintenance requirements.
• Provide post-installation support, including troubleshooting and system optimization.
• Maintain detailed records of installations, system specifications, and service schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Some positions may require a technical degree or certification in electrical or renewable energy systems.
• Prior experience in electrical work, construction, or solar panel installation is required
• Solar Installer certification preferred
• Electrical Certification (e.g., Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician) preferred
• Reliable transportation is required. You will travel to various jobsites as they are awarded
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Complete service orders and warranty paperwork for customers.
• Keep track of inventory for necessary materials and tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and solar technology.
• Ability to read blueprints, electrical diagrams, and installation manuals.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for solar installation.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism to interact with customers and team members.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Outdoor work on rooftops, construction sites, or other structures. Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials. Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions. Physical demands of this position is highly active. Activities will include walking, bending, and lifting.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Hours: Monday-Friday 40 hours generally 7:00 am- 3:30 pm; overtime may be necessary
Traveling to different jobsites is required.
