Introduction

A leading renewable energy company is looking for an Electrical Engineer with grid experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have worked in Distribution or Transmission Planning at Eskom and will play a key role in ensuring efficient grid integration of renewable energy projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct grid impact studies and evaluate network capacity for renewable energy projects.
Liaise with Eskom and other stakeholders on grid connection requirements and approvals.
Develop grid connection strategies for utility-scale renewable projects.
Support project teams in grid compliance, feasibility assessments, and technical due diligence.
Assist in technical negotiations related to power purchase agreements and grid codes.
Oversee grid integration, system modeling, and load flow analysis.
Ensure compliance with grid code requirements and industry regulations.

Desired Experience & Qualification

BTech or higher in Electrical Engineering.
8 – 12 years’ experience in Distribution or Transmission Planning at Eskom.
Strong knowledge of grid connection processes, power systems analysis, and network studies.
Experience working with renewable energy projects is advantageous.
Proficiency in power system simulation software is a plus.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
