What will you do?
The Material Flow Control Supervisor oversees the material handlers and is responsible for ensuring that materials are moved to the production lines promptly and that all transactions are completed accurately. This role requires the ability to conduct in-depth analyses of material flow strategies and issues to ensure that all transactions are executed in a timely manner, preventing any impact on production.
What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
- Plan, supervise, direct, and engage in daily operations while anticipating potential issues related to the material flow process.
- Share timely information with other Supervisors regarding any problems or delays affecting materials needed for production.
- Instruct, train, orient, motivate, mentor, and support employees to achieve material flow objectives.
- Maintain daily metrics on all materials moved and transactions completed.
- Conduct employee performance appraisals and recommend promotions, transfers, and work assignments.
- Supervise safety and housekeeping practices within the department, remaining vigilant for hazardous conditions and investigating accident causes to prevent future occurrences.
- Participate in the annual physical inventory and reconciliation process.
- Assist in investigating discrepancies identified through the Cycle Count Program.
- Execute inventory transactions related to special requests and manage the Phase In/Phase Out of materials, including implementing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
- Utilize software and tools to manage inventory effectively, ensuring results are documented and discussed biweekly with the team.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies, ensuring the team follows the correct material transaction processes as outlined in standard work.
- Assess shortages and inventory discrepancy data to identify trends, making informed decisions to correct material flow processes within the plant and driving resolution of main causes on a monthly basis.
- 1 plus year experience as a supervisor.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- JDE System Knowledge
- Training in management, planning, manufacturing, safety, quality, etc. a plus.
- Full understanding on inventory management, BOM and transaction management
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications especially PowerPoint and Excel.
