Purpose of the Role:
We’re looking for a Supervisor Manufacturing Sustainability to join our plant team in Krakow, Poland. In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage the Sustainability (team) in the factory.
- Act as a management advisor for all sustainability topics and work to engage all the manufacturing functions to develop and sustain together a strong sustainability culture.
- Drive the company to achieve Sustainability commitments and to ensure that sustainability systems and programs are implemented and continuously improved.
- Ensure legal compliance with sustainability requirements to sustain the affiliate's license to operate.
- Act as official sustainability representative towards authorities, government officials, and auditing bodies.
Your ‘day to day’:
SUSTAINABILITY:
- Manage and develop a motivated and skilled team to ensure the implementation of Sustainability strategies to improve EHS management and achieve Sustainability objectives and targets. Act and promote an interdependent and transparent safety culture fostering the utilization of preventive/predictive approach in line with Open+/IOS
- Ensure the EHS Pillar roll-out is in line with and scope of the Global implementation plan. Lead the Pillar team, and ensure the organization is growing capabilities on EHS Pillar tools through Pillar members and toolkits available.
QUALITY:
- Supervise and coordinate the implementation of the Sustainability management systems (ISO) and programs, and continually search for improvements to protect people from injury, the environment from damage, and the business from unnecessary losses, based on company Sustainability Principles and Practices and applicable regulatory requirements, to ensure that procedures and programs are accepted, the responsibilities are understood, and the programs are supported.
- Ensure the integration of Sustainability requirements in projects by providing coaching, counseling, and guidance to the Sustainability specialists and stakeholders to eliminate or reduce risks and comply with legal requirements. Lead programs to reduce waste and emissions and conserve energy and natural resources, to achieve environmental key performance indicators and achieve continual improvement.
DELIVERY:
- Ensure a proactive loss prevention program including risk management (identification, assessment, and control), inspections, audits, and emergency planning, by monitoring their implementation, to eliminate or reduce health, safety, and environmental risks to an acceptable level. Ensure contractor's compliance with Sustainability, legal, and PMI minimum requirements.
COST:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental-related laws and legislation and keep up to date with any changes. Inform management of the impact of these changes on their roles and responsibilities and/or to the company. Advise and represent site management in all matters concerning compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and maintain professional relationships with permitting authorities, to ensure that all regulatory reporting
MORAL:
- Ensure timely incident reporting, investigation, analysis, and corrective actions. Inform managers and employees of the root causes of incidents within the operation and PMI organization, to create awareness and prevent re-occurrence of injury to people and losses to the company.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of Sustainability performance indicators to operation management, region, and OC. Perform analysis, monitor trends, and identify opportunities for improvement. Data accuracy must be maintained to provide our Sustainability Report and other voluntary reporting schemes (e.g. Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI))
- Contribute to the development of emergency preparedness to eliminate or minimize losses due to emergency incidents (as per PMI definition), Business Continuity Plan, and its maintenance. Provide support to businesses in the post-incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Ensure accurate communication and sharing of best practices between the Operations Center, manufacturing, and market Sustainability, to initiate and accelerate the cooperation between internal and external stakeholders. Proactively benchmark and seek improvement opportunities through external networks. Promote PMI Sustainability practices externally to positively impact company image (in accordance with company policies)
Who We’re Looking For:
- University degree in Engineering/Chemical/Technical areas or technical high school diploma. Specific University course in Environmental, Health & Safety disciplines. Behaviour-based safety qualification or direct experience is a plus.
- International certificates (e.g. NEBOSH) are a plus.
- Proper qualification as per local legal requirements.
- Overall experience: 3 years experience in an industrial environment or similar activities.
- Specific Experience: previous experience or exposure to people coordination/management activities would be an asset. Production environment direct experience and resources coordination previous experience.
- Fluent local language, English - Upper-Intermediate as a minimum requirement
- PC literal (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 knowledge.
- IWS, TPM, and WCM experience is an asset.
- Strong people leadership, influencing, collaboration, and networking skills;
- A creative and analytical problem-solving capability with a think ‘outside the box’ approach when encountering challenges.
- Proven independent self-starter, able to deal with ambiguity.
