We are looking for an experienced Manager - Vendor Compliance and Sustainability (VCS) to join our team at Li & Fung Hong Kong. This position requires managing and overseeing compliance programs to ensure that all standards are met in alignment with customer expectations. You will be responsible for shaping and implementing strategies that reflect both our company’s and our customers’ commitment to responsible sourcing, sustainability, and ethical business practices. You will also focus on enhancing our company’s social and sustainability impact in line with our business objectives. The ideal candidate is a dedicated professional who is passionate about driving positive social and environmental change through corporate initiatives.
Here is what you need to know about this role:
Manage Compliance Programs:
Oversee Customers’ Compliance programs, including Social Compliance audits, reviewing audit reports, CAP reviews, and incident investigations.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate compliance performance.
Capacity Building Initiatives:
Develop and implement social supply chain capacity-building initiatives that align with customer strategy to drive factory improvement and enhance KPIs.
Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of these initiatives.
Stakeholder Communication:
Regularly communicate progress on compliance initiatives and metrics to customers and senior management, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Review and respond to complaints, concerns, or questions regarding compliance, providing consultative support to both internal and external stakeholders.
Vendor and Factory Relations:
Work closely with in-country compliance teams to ensure that vendors and factories fully understand customer requirements and maintain performance in line with both Li & Fung and customer codes of conduct.
Manage Vendor Compliance projects, including third-party operations, ensuring service quality and efficiency align with customer expectations.
Training and Education:
Collaboration and Insights:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address relevant social, environmental, and ethical issues.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to both internal teams and customers.
Additional Duties:
You might be a good fit if you have …
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in vendor compliance, sustainability, or related roles preferably within large Europe retailers.
Strong understanding of social compliance standards and environmental sustainability practices within the hardgoods sector. In-depth knowledge of amfori BSCI preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams and stakeholders.
Proven track record of managing compliance programs and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office especially in PowerPoint and Excel. Ability to acquire new technologies and systems quickly.
Work with global team across multiple time zones and must be willing to participate in off-hours conference calls.
High level of integrity and ethical standards, with a commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent command of Cantonese, English and Mandarin.
Ability to travel internationally.
Candidate with more experience will be considered as Senior Manager.
