Job Purpose: Zoo Atlanta’s Education Operations Team connects directly with the public through excellent customer service, communication of Education programs, and professionalism. The Education Operations Coordinator supports the Manager of Education Operations and Education Operations Specialist in providing efficient and professional customer service to all Education program participants. The position is the first line of communication for the Education Department and assists in coordinating all Education program reservation details and logistics with customers. This individual is an active member of the Education team, responsible for supporting the Interpretive Programs Team, School and Family Team, the Volunteer Team and representing Education on necessary cross departmental teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs general customer service and administrative duties: receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints regarding programs, policies and/or personnel; attends meetings; assists customers; answers the telephone; prepares reports and correspondence; enters computer data, etc.
- Supports processing incoming school program requests.
- Provides support to guests registering online for all Education Programs.
- Communicates with program supervisors, other employees, and other individuals as needed to coordinate program details or resolve problems.
- Assists in sending post-program surveys to all program participants.
- Assists with acquiring and filing all digital program liability waivers.
- Send Pre-Field Trip emails to teachers in advance.
- Generate Gift Certificates to send to guests and manage the Gift Certificate Tracker.
- Manage Education inbox.
- Manage Camp Waitlist – Continuing to monitor registrations and contact guests to fill empty spots after cancellations.
- Work directly with Admissions to help facilitate groups through the front gate, as needed.
- Assist with database management when necessary and ensure quality data entry.
- Generate reports as needed for program marketing, management, as well as other Zoo needs
- Assist with Education events.
- Must be willing to support Zoo Atlanta’s Vision, Mission and Values statement
- Any other miscellaneous projects or assignments assigned by Zoo Atlanta’s Education management team.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with project partners, staff, and volunteers including but not limited to Education, Operations, and Animal Management teams, and Education Volunteers.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects/priorities.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years' experience with quality data entry
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Exchange) is preferred
- Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, a windows-based reservations system
- Excellent computer skills required
- Creativity and enthusiasm
- Excellent skills in customer service
- Strong organizational and communication (oral and written) skills
- Strong teamwork and customer satisfaction skills are essential
- Flexible schedule, as some evening, weekend and holiday work required
- Professional dress, appearance, and conduct.
- Must pass background check, MVR verification, and TB test
- Zoo Atlanta is open to the public 363 days out of the year, therefore, all positions at Zoo Atlanta may require employees to work some weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Must be able to perform duties in a busy, high-traffic office
- Bilingual in conversational Spanish preferred.

- Must be able to sit at a desk, view a computer screen and type for extended periods

- This position is Monday through Friday.
