We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Solar Specialist to join our Power Generation team, within our Energy & Industrial practice.
As part of the leading renewables advisory firm in Aotearoa, this newly created opportunity will provide you with lots of room to demonstrate your skillset as part of our high performing national Energy & Industrial team. We are flexible about the location of this role;it will be based in Aotearoa.
Our new Senior Solar Specialist will support in the delivery of solar projects based in New Zealand and Australia. The role will include technical leadership of Aurecon’s pipeline of solar projects, providing support to our clients in our roles as Owner’s Engineer, Lender’s Technical Advisor as well asundertaking technical due diligence. They will leadthe development of concept designs and feasibility studies, undertake technical analyses and design reviews as well as develop technical specifications and support in key contract procurement. They will also have the opportunity toundertake site inspections on active construction projects as well as operational sitesto report on progress and quality. With a commitment to innovation and sustainability, they will remain up to date with the latest advancements in solar technology, driving the transition to cleaner energy solutions.
Feasibility Studies: Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the suitability of locations for solar installations, evaluating factors such as sunlight exposure, shading, and structural integrity.
Project Management: Oversee the installation and commissioning of solar power systems, coordinating with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

What are we looking for from you?
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar energy systems and a passion for renewable energy technologies. You will bring at least 5 years of relevant industry experience, ideally from an engineering consultancy environment.
Alongside this, you will have the following:
Bachelor's degree in either Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
Proven experience in working on utility scale solar power projects with specific experience in key equipment, site design,project development, construction and operation
