We’re currently building talent pools for potential projects with our clients in the climate and renewable space and are seeking Renewable energy Project Development consultants with expertise in technical studies and contracts.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess potential sites for renewable energy projects.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct technical, environmental, and economic feasibility studies to evaluate project viability.
  • Analyze data to determine the most suitable renewable energy technologies for each project.
  • Oversee the implementation of renewable energy projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years in the energy sector (ideally in renewables), working for a developer, an investment fund or an advisory firm  Having at least closed one project  
  • Experience working in renewable energy development in Africa. 
  • Experience in developing projects financed by DFIs. Experience managing technical, financial and legal due diligence of projects with support from relevant departments. Experience negotiating Shareholder Agreements, SPAs, JV Agreements, JDAs with the legal and project finance teams. Experience leading the EPC/ O&M Request for Proposals process. 
  • Independent Consultant Ability to drive projects Exposure to solar (PV, C&I, and other), wind, hydro, and other forms of renewable energy.  
  • Experience working in the African continent. 
  • Proven familiarity with commercial and technical aspects of renewable energy projects  
  • Proven experience in project management, working with cross functional teams and on multiple projects at the same time 
  •  Strong oral and written communication skills Languages- English, French OR Portuguese
