What will you be doing?
We are currently looking forasenior/marketreporter tojoin ourglobal editorial teamcoveringrenewable energy certificate marketsfromSingapore.
This is an excellent opportunity for aninquisitive,numerate andresourcefuljournalistto develop expertise in a rapidly evolving market.
You will have a passion for understanding howcomplex systemswork andwill relish the prospect of developing your skills in a role that combines news and analytical writing and developing relationships with relevant companies.
Your role will includeengaging with market participants, writing news articles andmarketanalysis,as well as assessing market prices. The environment is fast-pacedbut values careful thought. You will enjoy collaborative work with colleagues from a range of backgrounds, many located in Argus’ other offices around the globe.
There are opportunities totravel andattend industry events,and to develop networks/specific market knowledge, as well as topresent at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions.
The role wouldbe ideally suited to acuriousself-starter with an interest in the energy industry, andwho enjoyscultivating sources and writingmarket-moving stories.
Key Responsibilities
•Monitor and assess markets to produce daily price assessments, market analysis, news and reports.
•Engage with the industry to ensure a close understanding of market developments through daily contact with key market figures to build relationships and gather news.
•Contribute high-quality and original copy to the report and the on-line news service.
•Help to build and curate data sets that help explain market dynamics.
•Attend meetings, conferences and industry events to build contacts, report on news and represent Argus.
Skills and Experience
•Educated to bachelor’s degree level from a leading university.
•Fluency in a regional language is a bonus.
•Previous experience in business/financial journalism or in energy markets preferred but not essential.
•Self-motivation and initiative to drive projects forward with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
•Excellent writing and grammar skills.
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to network and build contacts with industry executives and internally.

Travel
- Cover conferences and events (5-10% of overseas travel is expected).
Hours
- Monday through Friday, 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
- Earlier or later hours, or weekend hours, may be expected on occasion.
