Grid Connection Specialist
This role will be responsible for supervising, analysing and optimizing the interconnection and connection of the national electric system in the development of energy generation projects through renewable technology (Photovoltaic, Wind and hybrid).
The role will be based in Cubico’s Mexico office in Mexico City, reporting to the Head of Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep track of the performance of the national interconnected system to identify possible locations to develop energy generation projects through renewable technology (Photovoltaic and Wind).
- Evaluate the interconnection and connection capacity by monitoring the performance of the national interconnected system.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external entities to plan and coordinate activities related to interconnection and connection.
- Manage interconnection/connection projects from their development phase up to the start of Commercial Operation.
- Ensure compliance within the national and international regulations and technical standards.
- Prepare technical and regulatory reports related to the interconnection and connection of the system.
- Participate in technical and regulatory committees to represent the interests of the company.
- Keep updated with the latest technologies and trends in the electricity sector.
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the team and the organization.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The successful candidate will have:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or similar.
- *Master’s degree in related areas.
- 3 years’ experience analysing and operating interconnected electrical systems.
- Experience managing analysis software for power systems such as PSS/E, DigSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, etc.
- Great Knowledge of operational principles for electric systems and transmission networks (SEN)
- Ability to perform load flow, short circuit and transient stability analysis.
- Familiarity with national and international electric regulations and standards.
- Excellent analysis and solve-problems skills
- Team-player and the capability to work with different areas and entities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Oriented to innovation and continuous improvement.
