Job Description Summary
In this role you will be responsible for working in lock-step with application or domain leaders acting as a senior technical product manager to create a clear strategic direction that will be delivered by the product development team. You will work with the team and deliver a clear and descriptive set of requirements to enable the delivery of product features and functionality. Your priority is seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders including but not limited to: Customers, Process Owners, Enterprise Architects, Application Managers, Development teams and Technical Architects.
GE Gas Power business has a globally distributed supply chain, and strategic sourcing business processes & tools transformation is underway. Gas Power sourcing best practices & tools will be enhanced to include GE Vernova HQ and other business units (BU) scope. The goal will be to conceptualize the vision of Strategic Sourcing applications, aligning with each GE Vernova sourcing business vision and influence the roadmap to onboard them into the standard sourcing application & tools and execute on the roadmap.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible to own, support and drive the product and system integrations within strategic Sourcing space with products like e.g. Jaggaer (SourceGate+) with other systems in Sourcing & Logistics space, ERPs, middleware, datalake etc.
- Interacts and collaborates with customers/stakeholders, partners, architects, ERP teams etc. in VOC requirements-gathering, fine tuning, and obtaining product feedback in strategic sourcing space for Gas Power, HQ and other BUs
- Works with cross-functional teams to deliver features and products.
- Shows increasing understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product.
- Drive best practices and standards in building the solutions that are scalable and optimize performance.
- Conducts customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborates on personas.
- Demonstrates ability to influence customers and product managers through persuasion and influencing.
- Collaborates with software product teams (internal/external) for the release and sprint backlogs short-term roadmap for MVPs and releases.
- Owns and manages the backlog; continuously orders and prioritizes to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready. Prioritizes continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs.
- Collaborates with Product Managers/TPMs to decompose features into consumable user stories.
- Engages frequently (50% of the time) with the development team; facilitates discussions, provides clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions.
- Translates unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work unit.
- Partners with Service Owners/ Development Managers to ensure healthy development process.
- Applies Agile Methodology.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- A minimum of 5 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within IT program/product areas
Desired Characteristics:
- Expertise and hands on experience of working in Sourcing domain and knowledge of other domains like Quality/Supply chain etc.
- Experience in conceptualizing solutions in the SaaS layer and integrating the same with standard business flows and technical integrations.
- Experience with SaaS to SaaS/PaaS integration and middleware such as Jaggaer, AWS, Dell Boomi, PI, Rest APIs, Tableau, ETL jobs and report development.
- Strong knowledge of software design and coding principles
- Demonstrates knowledge on technical topics, such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization
- Self-starter - requires minimal direction to accomplish goals
- Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities
- Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
- Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint and partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives
- Demonstrated experience leading and influencing across a complex, globally matrixed organization.
