POSITION OVERVIEW
As part of the Project Engineering team, the Sales Engineer serves as our customers primary technical point of contact. Working closely with the Sales leads and our customers, the Sales Engineer provides a critical role in the successful sale and delivery of projects using the Voyager single axis tracker. Helping our customers to value engineering their projects, to extract the most value out of the Voyager product on their projects, is essential and a key differentiator of FTC Solar. Site layouts, grading design, pile design, structure design, DC collections, cable management and SCADA network design all can be optimized, and it is the Sales Engineer’s responsibility, through collaboration with internal and external resources, to coordinate this. Once a project opportunity has been value engineered and the optimum Tracker solution and project design have been spec’d, the last responsibility of the Sales Engineer is to ensure a smooth hand-off of the project to the FTC Operations team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with our customers
- Management of a pipeline of projects and technical deliverables in our CRM and task management system and consistently deliver high-quality, on-time deliverables
- Meet with potential customers via phone, email, and in-person to discuss project specifications and partner with sales to articulate the business benefits and technical advantages of FTC products
- Vetting of project technical requirements, customer provided information and other available information to identify value engineering opportunities, red flags and solutions
- Coordination with all project stakeholders to ensure FTC’s final products and deliverables meet schedule and quality requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4 year college degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline
- 2+ years of AutoCAD experience
- 2+ years’ experience in solar power plant design
- Must be familiar with utility scale PV power plant design/ construction
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs, specifically Word and Excel
Working Conditions
1. Work location is Chennai, India
2. Travel to FTC offices and suppliers on need basis
