Job Opening: Senior Project Engineer - Solar Energy Systems

Location: Kenya

Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the design and execution of advanced commercial and industrial solar systems for a leading firm in the renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will ensure that all systems comply with both local and international standards and are optimized for performance and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee the implementation of solar energy systems in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct site inspections to develop precise designs and cost estimates.
  • Prepare budgets, detailed construction drawings, and necessary documentation for utility approval.
  • Simulate and evaluate system performance.
  • Lead the commissioning of projects on-site.
  • Mentor a team of engineers and draftsmen, ensuring high-quality design outputs.
  • Validate design compliance before official approvals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar PV, battery storage, or related fields.
  • Expertise in design software and strong analytical skills.
  • B.Eng, BSc. Eng, or B.Tech Eng in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Holder of a T3 Solar Photovoltaic Technician License and registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
