Commercial Solar Installer - Level 1 - Renewable Energy
Position Overview
We are looking for a Level 1 Installer who will assist in the installation of solar and sometimes energy storage systems at commercial sites.
Responsibilities
A Level 1 Commercial Solar Installer is responsible for assisting in the installation of commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This entry-level position involves working with a team to safely and efficiently install solar panels, racking systems, and related electrical components on commercial properties. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, the ability to follow instructions, and a willingness to learn the fundamentals of solar installation.
Requirements
- Solar Panel Installation: Assist in mounting and securing solar panels on commercial rooftops, ground mounts, or carports following design specifications.
- Racking and Structural Assembly: Help install racking systems, ensuring proper alignment, attachment, and compliance with safety guidelines.
- Electrical Support: Work under the supervision of electricians or senior installers to run conduit, connect wiring, and assist in basic electrical tasks.
- Safety Compliance: Follow OSHA and company safety standards, including proper use of PPE, fall protection, and safe handling of tools and materials.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and stage equipment and materials for installation, ensuring a clean and organized job site.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the installation team, following instructions from the Crew Lead to complete projects efficiently.
- Basic Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and addressing minor issues that arise during installation.
- Site Clean-Up: Maintain a tidy job site by removing debris, organizing tools, and following proper disposal procedures.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in on-the-job training to develop skills in solar installation, safety procedures, and industry best practices.
- OSHA10 or 30 Certification
- Enrolled or Completed Electrical Trainee School
- Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Previous construction, roofing, or electrical experience a plus
