Position Summary
Responsible for creating and teaching a fun summer camp experience for children 10–15 years old while exploring Tampa Bay.
Essential Position Functions
- Maintains camper safety
- Responsible for developing fun activities that correspond to the camp theme
- Mentoring counselors and teen volunteers
- Handles group and individual camper behavior
- Drive a 15 passenger van
- Assists with upkeep and maintenance of travel camp related items.
- Assists with light office work and other duties as assigned
Education Requirements and Technical Skills
- Degree in biology, environmental science, marine science, outdoor education or elementary education
- Formal or Informal teaching experience (1 year of experience)
- Customer service skills preferred
- Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred
- Lifeguarding certification preferred

Typical Physical Requirements
- Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity (spending 6 hours outside)
- Standing (6 hours per day)
- Walking (4 hours per day)
- Bending/Stooping – Occasionally
- Reaching about shoulders – Occasionally
- Carrying (up to 30 lbs.) – Occasionally
- Lifting (up to 30 lbs.) – Occasionally
- Using hands for repetitive movements
- Exposure to dust, fumes and gases
- Typing on a computer keyboard
- Viewing a computer screen for short periods
- Coping with demands (stresses that are associated with the job and/or the work environment) so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained
- More than normal talking
