Join our dynamic team as an In-House Counsel and play a pivotal role in shaping the legal landscape of our renewables business operations in Romania. In this role, you’ll be advising the business on risks, anticipating and addressing internal and external factors and their legal implications, and ensuring excellent collaboration across business units and functions.
Together with us, you have the chance to grow every day, contributing to the energy transition, and being responsible of:
- Providing legal guidance for renewable energy procurement processes, including project prospecting, due diligence, and contract drafting (e.g., joint ventures, purchase agreements).
- Supporting the operation and maintenance of wind and photovoltaic projects within our portfolio.
- Handling property rights matters: Drafting, notarizing, and managing agreements such as easement and superficies contracts.
- Advising on complex regulatory issues: Ensuring compliance with Romanian and EU energy legislation affecting energy production and related activities.
- Ensuring adherence to legal standards: Guaranteeing that all business activities are aligned with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Leading critical projects and negotiations: Driving key initiatives while enhancing the Legal Department’s strategic role.
- Building strong relationships: Collaborating with internal stakeholders, authorities, regulatory bodies, and external counsel.
- Managing and mentoring direct reports: Developing a collaborative, high-performance legal team environment.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- A licensed lawyer in Romania with strong legal expertise; experience in the renewables or energy sector is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in legal practice, including corporate, regulatory, and energy-related matters.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, combined with a sharp business acumen and the ability to anticipate legal risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Capable of conveying legal insights clearly, with an impactful and assertive presence.
- High integrity, adaptability, and resourcefulness, with the capacity to work in dynamic environments and adopt new technologies or systems.
- Proven relationship-building abilities, including influencing diverse stakeholders, collaborating with public authorities, and leading discussions with international teams.
- Fluency in English: Strong written and verbal communication skills; additional language abilities are an advantage.
