About The Role
Reporting to the General Counsel, the Director of Compliance will lead the company’s compliance efforts across federal, state, and local jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, financial agreements, consumer protection laws, and industry best practices. This leader will serve as a critical advisor to internal teams, regulatory agencies, and executive leadership, ensuring all compliance initiatives align with company's strategic goals and operational integrity. This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring regular in-office collaboration. Some travel may be required to engage with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Responsibilities- Reporting and Documentation: Manage periodic compliance reports for state and federal jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Collaborate across teams to gather necessary data for reporting obligations.
- Federal and State Incentive Compliance: Track and manage compliance with state and federal awards.
- Financial and Corporate Compliance: Oversee compliance with financial deal commitments, including partner agreements with organizations.
- Consumer Protection and Marketing Compliance: Conduct regular reviews of marketing materials and website content for compliance with applicable laws.
- Lobbying and Political Contributions: Ensure compliance of lobbying activity and political contributions.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Track emerging regulations affecting the industry in coordination with internal teams.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in business or other relevant field (law degree or other relevant advanced degree preferred).
- 5+ years of compliance leadership experience, preferably in renewable energy or heavily related industries.
- Understanding of state and federal solar energy programs, labor laws, and consumer protection regulations preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex compliance programs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interface with regulatory agencies and internal teams.
- Familiarity with renewable energy credits (RECs), prevailing wage regulations, and consumer protection laws preferred.
- Ability to provide strategic insights in response to market trends and regulatory developments.
