From its forest and farmland acreage in the Snoqualmie Valley, Oxbow Farm and Conservation Center cultivates conservation and food security to sustain and enhance the Puget Sound region. Oxbow’s primary funding source is Raven Trust, a family foundation.
The organization’s work is focused on providing immersive educational programming, growing native plants, and growing food for donation through food security partners. Oxbow’s education work reaches more than 8000 people each year through innovative, experiential programs.
POSITION OVERVIEW
TheDirectorofEngagement atOxbow Farm & Conservation Center is a key memberofthe Executive Team, responsible for leading the strategy and executionofmarketing, communications, donor cultivation, and partnership development. This role focuses on fostering mission-aligned stakeholderengagementby building and sustaining meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and the broader community.The successful candidate will develop and implement a comprehensive3-to-5-yearengagementstrategy that drives collaboration with strategic partners, amplifies Oxbow’s mission, and elevates its impact.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications Leadership
- Collaborate with the Executive Team, Program Managers, and the Marketing & Communications Senior Specialist todevelop and lead a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that enhances stakeholderengagementand aligns with key performance indicators for all Oxbow program areas.
- Refine and strengthen Oxbow’s brand identity to ensure cohesive messaging, visual identity, and strategy are integrated across all organizational initiatives.
- Track, measure, and analyze marketing, partnerships, and publicengagementdata to inform strategic decisions and optimize effectiveness.
- Provideleadership in growth,engagement, and retention strategies, fostering meaningful opportunities for community interaction, gathering insights, and creating accountability feedback loops.
- Oversee and update existing communication assets and channels, including Oxbow’s website, collateral materials, and outreach platforms, to maintain relevance and alignment with strategic goals.
- Supervise and mentor direct reports, establishing clear professional development goals and supporting their growth and success.
Development Leadership
- Collaborate with the Executive Team, Development Committee, BoardofDirectors, and Development Coordinatorto establish and drive development goals that align with Oxbow’s budget and mission impact priorities.
- Partner with the Development Committee and direct reports tocultivate and strengthen relationships with a small set of existing and prospective partners and donors, proactively positioning Oxbow for new opportunities, negotiating favorable terms, and advancing shared goals.
- Providestrategic guidance for the planning and executionoftargeted, small number of grant applications.
- Oversee theplanning and delivery ofa small-scale fundraising event to support development goals.
- Ensure accuratetracking, reporting, and analysis ofdevelopment metrics and outcomes to inform strategy and measure progress.
- Support theBoard’s Development Committee, ensuring it meets regularly and operates effectively to advance development priorities.
CORE KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- 10+ yearsofrelevant professional experience such as partnership development, marketing leadership, fundraising, or nonprofit management.
- Demonstrated success with developing and executing impactful partnerships.
- Strong management skills, balanced strategic and tactical focus, with a demonstrated ability to deliver program results while maximizing individual development and well-being.
- Knowledge and experience in budget management and fiscal oversight for teams/departments.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work some weekends and evenings.
- Fluent working in Microsoft suite (Office 365, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Experience with CRM systems preferred.

COMPENSATION
This is a regular, full-time position, with a competitive compensation package that includes 100% employer paid healthcare, annual dental stipend, employer retirement match, and generous holiday, vacation, and sick leave. The pay range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 annually.
