Responsibilities: Assist Zoo’s Catering and Food Service Departments with dishwashing responsibilities both during and after events. Duties may include but are not limited to organizing the food and beverage storage areas, assisting with the preparation work associated with catering business, washing dishes at a variety of Zoo locations, cleaning projects in the kitchen and restaurant areas, working on the front line, working on minor maintenance projects, and assisting the Catering Manager on other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Working experience in a restaurant/kitchen required. Familiarity with basic fundamentals of food safety and sanitation required. Prior customer service experience is preferred. Must be able to take direction and also work independently when applicable. Must have flexible work hours. Work schedules include weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays. Must have the physical ability to work on your feet and be able to walk the Zoo grounds for several hours at a time. Must be able to perform physically demanding work. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. All successful candidates for this position will be required to submit to a criminal background check.
